Haunted by childhood memories of being abandoned, Xiao Qi (Nathaniel Ho) has a haven where the rest of the world is kept at bay. He shares this static world with his only friend, Kong Long (Trey Ho), only to have it rudely disrupted with the arrival of Li Er (Leah Low). Xiao Qi learns to live by learning to love as he is forced to confront reality and to break free from the shackles of his past.
Ending with a surprising twist, Smell of Rain sends a message of courage, hope and fresh beginnings.
